What is the UK 11+ Music Aptitude Test (MAT)?
A step-by-step guide to what to expect in the exam
This video is a step-by-step guide to what to expect in the standard UK 11+ MAT or Music Aptitude Test for state grammar school entry. Some grammar schools may use a variant of the standard test or include a couple of extra sections where graphic scores are being used to determine volume, mood or tempo changes as well style of music. This does not apply to most private schools, as they have their own methods for accepting school entries, and those should be followed instead if you are applying to private schools.
